Our local Office Depots are holding Teacher Appreciation Week July 29 – Aug. 4 — that’s next week. During this time, purchases will ring at a 20% discount with 10% rewards for enrolled Star Teachers, in addition to $10 off regularly priced $50+ purchases (think toner, paper, other supplies) and 30% off Elmer’s multi-pack glue sticks.
Membership into the Star Teacher purchasing progam is free, open to home school parents, and function sort of like a frequent flyer card. Saturday, Aug. 4 will be a special Open House where teachers get a coupon book, breakfast, and a tote bag with samples. Our area has two locations, one in West Des Moines at Water Tower Place and another in Des Moines at Merle Hay Mall.
I’ve attended one or two open houses in the past, and the tote bags are very well constructed. The samples have been general office supplies rather than education specific — sticky notes rather than flash cards.
